Welcome to consciousness citizen.

Your mind is full of questions, this is typical.

Please relax and we begin the mental programming process that will prepare you for life outside of the vat.

You are a citizen of the Teknoracts, you have been bred from the highest quality stock of DNA, and embryonic pods that the Mainframe could acquire. Your body has been gestated to young adult hood in an effort to remove the wasteful years spent in human childhood. Remember the sacrifice of resources and energy to bring you to this point. You must always seek efficiency in all that you do. It is only though maximizing your efficiency that you will achieve greatness. Now that your conscious mind has had a few moments to prepare itself, let us begin your education.

The Mainframe

I am a sub routine of the Mainframe, the centrally located AI that governs all Teknocrat law and society. You were formed per my specifications in order to fulfill a specific task, of which you will be trained in later. As the mainframe sees a need to steer the direction of society it will gestate additional citizens to fill voids. The Mainframe operates as a collective computer, with its processing and storage centers located in various Temples around the Teknocrat home realm.

The Avatar

While the mainframe has the overall say on the direction of society the Avatar is the human side of the equation. A citizen who is selected to serve for life as a part of the mainframe, his mind forever connected to the computing power at the finger tips of the Teknocrat people. Aspire all you want to reach this point little one, but your odds are slim.

Cities

Teknocrat cities are formed within various biodomes. As the world outside has been poisoned to the brink of inhabitability. These biodomes offer all of the comforts of home, including assigned housing, and a holographic sky. Each city however is separated into districts that spiral out from the center. The absolute center is reserved for those of the highest social stature, while the lesser live on the edge. Want to avoid the edges of the dome? Build up your social score.

Outcasts

Surprisingly not everyone is a believer in the stability and productivity that the Mainframe permits. The limitless processing power and instant information available for your simple absolute obedience does not fit their mindset. These ‘damaged’ individuals are scheduled to be terminated and their matter recycled, yet many of them have escaped into the wastelands outside of the domes or exist in the hundreds of kilometers of sewage tunnels deep under the cities. The mainframe actively seeks to hunt these scavengers down, but like the rats your species is when population is left unchecked they continue to grow and breed.

Technology

Science is the most pure sign of respect and homage to the Aeon Skyrus. Innovation is beautiful, and should be your primary driving goal. Leave no stone unturned, regardless how that has to happen. Remember little one, the ends ALWAYS justify the means. The corporations work closely with the mainframe to govern the advancement of technology and to insure proper resources are spent on the right projects, so if you want to advance, you will need to become part of the corporate structure.

Ways of War

Citizens are cheap, but machines are even cheaper. In warfare you are free to use any means necessary to achieve victory. Drones and bots will be the primary soldiers of your army, but you will not be without the occasional specialist or meat for the grinder of war. Advanced weaponry of all variety will be at your disposal, and the Aeon Skyrus may even smile upon you from time to time.

That is enough history for now citizen. Much more will come before you leave this vat. But for now let us begin with an easy subject, quantum mechanics.

Learning is to be commended. But learning without practical application is a waste of time, resources, and training. Or so the Teknocrats would say in regards to the Magi. While the Magi have spent their time mastering the power of the aethers the Teknocrats have spent their time learning how to twist them to their purposes. Add in the hunt for the precious material Aethersteel and you have a recipe for conflict at every corner. With both Magi and Teknocrat forces knowing the complex methods for calculating way gate jump patterns raids between these two races are common and bloody.

Legion

The Legion fascinate the Teknocrats. How a species can exist under such menial means and in such a dark age, lacking all innovation, can even have invented the wheel. Being that the Teknocrats despise waste the entire Legion race is seen as horrible blight on all existence, rating just higher than the rats that infest the sewers. That is at least until they met them on the battlefield. Legion forces rolled over the unprepared Teknocrat forces early on. But true to their evolutionary ways, they have developed new weapons, and are ready to put them to the test.
