“When the chips are down, and you are on your last magazine, then you will understand these words. Only then will your minds recall this admonition. And I hope you do, because it may be the only thing that leads you to victory. When defeat is imminent, when death is upon you. That is the time to attack. That is the time to rush forward with abandon. To unsettle your opponent. To seize the advantage. To spit blood in his face as you strangle him in his triumph.”

~ Warlord Lenora of the Thunder

Mao Zedong wrote that ‘the only real defense is active defense’, or as we now know it “The best defense is a good offence”. The Legion have taken this to heart. When backed into a corner they can be at their most fearsome, rushing headlong into overwhelming odds in an effort to break the enemies will or coordination. This gives them a strength in combat that others simply find difficult to understand, yet its results are brutally effective.

In the far southern region of the Legion’s home realm lies a valley of red sand stone. The sides of the valley contain tall pillars that resembles smoke stacks and the temperature can get up to 110F. Leading to the name of the area as “The Blood Furnace”. In addition to its inhospitable climate it also happens to be on the boarder of five warring tribes who fight constantly for possession of all or part of the furnace. For scattered throughout the furnace are strong deposits of Aethersteel, remnants of an old production facility.

In the case Battle Charge the card can only be beneficial in the same turn that a unit moved into melee combat with its opponent. Meaning that if the unit was already locked into melee it can not gain the benefit, however if the unit is able disengage from melee it is then able to re-engage into melee. This will allow the effects of Battle Charge to trigger. Often the added POW +2 and AP +2 is worth the added risk of the attack of opportunity. Combine this with Impulsive Maneuver to prevent even the attack of opportunity!

For an added insult, use Battle Charge with a card like Bloodlust. This will allow the ability to be used again in the second activation. Giving you double the power of this already very effective card. If you still have addition cards to use, consider playing along with Rapid Strike to increase your number of attacks by 1, giving Battle Charge a greater usage and Bloodlust.
